Did you know that each note has its value written on it in 17 different languages and scripts!! On the reverse of every note that is printed, the value is written in a column on the left side in 15 languages and in Hindi and English below on left and right corners respectively.The obverse has the denomination written Hindi and English and on the reverse the language panel has 15 of the total of 22 Official Languages of India. The languages are displayed in alphabetic order.
The 15 languages are: Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Panjabi, Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu.
